Daily car hire is the simplest thing Euro Hire Drive does: a car for a day, a weekend or a week, collected from our depot at 5A Grange Road, Houstoun Industrial Estate, Livingston, or delivered to you across West Lothian. This guide covers the groups we run, what to bring, when to book and the local details that make it painless.
The groups
- Small economy and small: Toyota Aygo, Renault Clio. Town driving, commuting, a replacement while yours is repaired.
- Medium: VW Golf, Kia Ceed. The daily run to Edinburgh or Glasgow, business trips, small families.
- Large and SUV: Nissan Qashqai, Toyota RAV4, Land Rover Defender. Family trips, winter weather, towing.
- Premium: BMW 7 Series. Weddings, executive travel, occasions.
The full table with seats and luggage for each group is on the daily car hire page. Automatics are available in most groups.
What to bring
- Your photocard driving licence.
- A DVLA licence check code, generated at gov.uk within the last 21 days.
- Proof of your current address.
- A card for the refundable security deposit, released after the car is returned and checked.
When to book
Midweek hires can often be arranged the same day. School holidays, bank holiday weekends and the Edinburgh festival weeks in August are the busiest, so book those a week or two ahead. If you are flying into Edinburgh Airport, fifteen minutes from the depot, tell us your flight time and we will have the car ready.
Local details that help
- We are just off junction 3 of the M8, so Edinburgh is twenty-five minutes, Glasgow forty, Stirling thirty and Fife thirty over the Queensferry Crossing.
- There is parking on site, so you can leave your own car with us while you have ours.
- Delivery and collection across Livingston, Bathgate, Blackburn and Broxburn can be arranged when you book.
- Livingston North station is a short taxi ride from the depot if you arrive by train.
When daily hire is not the answer
If you need a car for a month or more, flexi hire and subscription include maintenance and let you swap or stop with notice. If you need seven seats or more, see people carrier hire. If the trip is about moving things, a small van is the easier hire.
Need a van this week?Panel, Luton and crew cab vans up to 3.5 tonne, hired by the day, week or month across Scotland.

What is included in a daily car hire?
VAT, insurance for the named driver, mileage and UK breakdown cover are included. Mileage is unlimited on most hires but limited on one to three day hires and on prestige and SUV groups, and the insurance excess can be reduced with a collision damage waiver; we confirm both when you enquire.
Is there a minimum age?
Drivers must be 23 to 70 for cars and vans, and 25 and over for minibuses, people carriers, SUVs and 4x4s, with at least two years’ driving experience (five for SUVs, 4x4s and prestige cars). Some restrictions apply at 23 and 24; tell us the driver’s details when you enquire.
Can I add a second driver?
Usually yes. Give us their details when you book so they can be added at collection.
Can I extend by a day?
Call the depot on 01506 444455 and we will extend over the phone if the car is not booked out next.
