The three situations we see most
- Your van is in the garage. Call in the morning, collect by lunchtime, keep it until yours is back. Extensions by phone.
- A contract needs a second van. Hire by the week until you know the work is steady, then move to long term or contract hire without changing vehicle.
- A job needs a vehicle you do not own. A tipper for a week of groundworks, a Luton for a fit-out, a crew van for a big site. Hire it for the job and hand it back.
Where our trade vans work
Across Livingston, Bathgate, Whitburn and Armadale, Broxburn and the Lothians, and on sites in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Falkirk, Stirling and Fife, with delivery to site for hires of a week or more.
What you need
- A photocard driving licence held for at least two years; drivers aged 23 to 70.
- A DVLA licence check code from the last 21 days, or your National Insurance number.
- Two proofs of address dated within the last three months, one a bank or card statement.
- A card in the driver’s name for the refundable deposit, or a business account with monthly billing.
VAT, insurance for the named driver, mileage and UK breakdown cover are included; mileage is limited on one to three day hires and hires over four weeks carry a weekly mileage allowance.

Can I get a van today?
Usually, on a weekday. Call 01506 444455 first thing and we will tell you what is on the yard.
Can my apprentice drive it?
Only if they are 23 or over with two years’ licence held; additional drivers are added at collection with their documents.
Can I put racking or a roof rack on a hired van?
Nothing that drills or bolts into the van. Loose racking and strapped ladders are fine; ask when you book.
Can I keep tools in the van overnight?
Yes, the panel vans and crew vans have solid bulkheads and lockable doors; the hire terms ask you to keep the van locked and the keys secure.
How do I move from weekly hire to contract hire?
Tell us when the work looks steady. We keep you in the same vehicle and move the arrangement to long term or contract hire with maintenance included.
