How daily van hire works

1. Enquire. Use the form above or call 01506 444455 with the dates, the job and where you are going. We will tell you which van group fits and confirm availability, usually the same day.
2. Collect. Bring your photocard driving licence, a DVLA licence check code generated within the last 21 days, two proofs of address dated within the last three months, and a card for the refundable security deposit. We walk round the van with you and note its condition together.
3. Drive. Extend by phone if the job runs over. If anything goes wrong on the road, call the depot.
4. Return. Bring the van back at the agreed time, at the fuel level agreed at collection. We check it over with you and release the deposit.

What is included in a daily van hire?

VAT, insurance for the named driver, mileage and UK breakdown cover are included. Mileage is unlimited on most hires but limited on one to three day hires and on some vehicle groups, and the insurance excess can be reduced with a collision damage waiver; we confirm both for your van when you enquire.

Do I need a special licence to hire a van?

No. Every van we hire is under 3.5 tonnes, so a standard UK category B car licence covers it. Bring your photocard and a DVLA check code.

Is there a deposit?

Yes. A refundable security deposit is held on a card at collection and released after the van is returned and checked. The amount depends on the vehicle; we confirm it when you enquire.

Can I hire a van for a weekend?

Yes. Weekend hire is popular for house moves, so book early for Saturdays at the end of the month.

Can you deliver the van?

Yes, across West Lothian for most hires and further afield for hires of a week or more. Ask when you enquire.

What if the job takes longer than planned?

Call the depot on 01506 444455 and we can usually extend the hire over the phone, subject to the van not being booked out next.
